Spring Wardrobe Essentials I Reach For Every Year

On refinement, versatility, and getting dressed with intention

What Spring Wardrobe Essentials Can Actually Look Like

The last thing I would describe my closet as is minimalist.

I am a closet maximalist to the core, baby.

But I do find myself craving something different these days. More refinement. Stronger pieces. Less clutter. More intention.

As we move into spring, I think less about having more, and more about having the right pieces.

How to Build a Spring Wardrobe That Feels Effortless

the essential Pieces I Come Back to Every Year

1. A lighter wash jean

Some of my favorite jeans are these High Rise Flare Jeans from The Gap. Not only do they fit my hourglass shape like a glove, but they also come in various lengths. As a proud tall girly who does not shy away from a heel, that matters.Length is everything on a curvier frame. The wrong length can throw off our proportions, while the right one elongates and brings balance to our silhouette.I also love a high rise—it helps define the waist and further balances the body.

2. A tailored pant

I am a fan of anything that can move with me throughout the day.

A tailored pant can just as easily be paired with a blazer for a meeting as it can with a crop top for a night out.

Versatility is the name of the game when you are building a more refined wardrobe.

This mocha pair by SRG  is a clear winner. It goes with almost anything and always feels pulled together.

3. A flowy dress

I am so obsessed with the fit of this dress (to be filled in) that I bought it in two different prints.

I love dresses for so many reasons. They feel easy. Effortless. One piece becomes a complete outfit.

But what I love most is how adaptable they are. You can throw a jacket over it or layer a t-shirt underneath and create a completely different look.

This particular dress supports the girls without the need for a bra, and honestly, that alone is enough reason for me.

The cups fit just right, and the cinching hits perfectly at the smallest part of my waist. I have a shorter torso and longer legs, and this dress complements my proportions in a way that just works.

The tie-back adds that extra support so everything sits exactly where I want it to.

4. A comfy pair of shoes

These Converse are one of my go-tos.

They take me from a real estate development site visit—depending on the condition, of course—to the park where I am running around with my daughter.

They are comfortable, practical, and still feel cute.

That balance matters.

5. An oversized bag

As an entrepreneurial mama, I carry a lot.

From diapers and wipes, to hand sanitizer, to sometimes my iPad, and always my lip gloss.

I love a bag that can hold it all without sacrificing style. This one from Rebecca Minkoff is one of my favorites.

6. A slip dress

Yes, a yummy slip dress.

There is something about it that feels so effortless and so sexy to me.

The light fabric delicately drapes over the curves of my body—curves that are meant to be celebrated and seen, not hidden.

If I could spend every moment, waking and sleeping, in a slip dress, I would.

It’s chic without trying. Easy, but elevated. A must for a night out.

In my opinion, every girly should have at least one.

This one (to be inserted) is one of my go-tos.
